| thing | what it is | status |
|---|---|---|
| dappasol | the studio. design, build, automate, ship. six years, 100+ products, zero handoff gaps. | alive and billing |
| vowcamp | wedding planning software for indian weddings, where one wedding is five events minimum. | building |
| billora | invoices and business documents, kept like a proper ledger. | building |
| casa ira | a 60-level puzzle game built for exactly one player. her dog is in the credits. she logged 314 sessions in a day. | shipped |
| the comment machine | reads linkedin all day and drafts the comments, so he only has to press send. it is not allowed to press send. | supervised |
| dropkyd | a drop marketplace for creators. he does the break-it-before-launch part. | in build |
| prem prophet | a premier league table-prediction game. predictions lock august 20. bring your wrong opinions. | live |
| the ishan take | takes on sport, slowly pivoting to takes on everything. | recording |
| ishxn.com | this page. somehow the hardest project of the lot. | you're soaking in it |
there are more, they're just not ready. previously: a whole era of meme coin websites. cooldog, duckwifhat, sadcat.
current obsessions
| obsession | the evidence | severity |
|---|---|---|
| seo, aeo, geo | teaching google, chatgpt and perplexity to say his name. current score: cited in 1 of 10 prompts. the other 9 are the obsession. | clinical |
| davinci resolve | learning to edit and color grade properly. built a robot that turns a week of raw footage into a real timeline. taste is still applied by hand, at 3am. | new and loud |
| fonts | has opinions. the font drawer is further down this page. | lifelong |
▶ the vlog robot, explained
a pipeline that eats a week of raw footage (78 clips of gym, cooking, friends, hills), transcribes the hinglish, finds the story, and builds a real editable timeline. never a flat mp4, always a timeline. the robot cuts, he directs. episode one is called "i did it anyway", because he said that on camera and the robot noticed.
▶ the second brain
his twitter bookmarks, scraped and filed into a knowledge vault by an agent. final count: 19 bookmarks. he was confident there were 30. the vault does not lie.
built at 3am
claude code skills he built for his own work and kept because they kept working. a skill is a folder that teaches claude how he likes things done. these eight are free to take.
| skill | what it does |
|---|---|
| one-take | builds a website that is one continuous film. you scroll, it plays. |
| depth-charge | landing pages with a 3d hero that scrubs as you scroll. |
| highlight-reel | turns a finished site into a 6 second loop for the portfolio card. |
| pays-for-itself | designs pages for conversion, not decoration. |
| cold-open | cold outreach that reads like a text, not a brochure. |
| skeleton-crew | runs a whole department inside claude code. humans keep the decisions. |
| run-it-back | writes loops that keep going until the work is actually done, not done-ish. |
| read-the-whole-thing | paste a link, it reads all of it. the video, the thread, the entire pdf. |
install: copy a folder into ~/.claude/skills/ and it works next session. no build step, no account, nothing to configure.
take them from github ↗the ishan take
a youtube channel where he has opinions in public, on purpose. sport first, life next. mummy · 2h agobeta itna time hai toh call bhi kar lo
the first vlog: "i have a life outside football… apparently."
watch the takes ↗nine cameras, one guy
still uses the phone half the time. obviously.
▶ the full confession, camera by camera
- canon a1, film. the elder. still perfect.
- a camcorder older than most of his opinions.
- polaroid cam, for proof that moments happened.
- fujifilm x-t5, the favorite. gets used a lot, shot most of the photos on this page.
- fujifilm x-s20, the video one.
- iphone 17, the one that's actually in his pocket.
- dji osmo, for walking and talking.
- dji flip. dropped in dal lake. dead. lives on the shelf as a showpiece now.
- dji avata 2, an fpv drone. gift from ira. he is yet to learn how to fly it and would like everyone to stop asking.
proof of life

taste, documented
the rotation
| album | by | his line |
|---|---|---|
| iii | the lumineers | a whole family's story across one album. he will explain it unprompted. |
| o | damien rice | makes him want to drop everything and leave. in a good way. |
| 9 | cigarettes after sex | long drives. |
| am | arctic monkeys | instant confidence. results may vary. |
the cinema shelf
- tamasha and rockstar. the all-timers. bawled at both, would do it again.
- main vaapas aaunga. imtiaz, 2026. bawled his eyes out in the theatre. zero regrets.
- good will hunting, liberal arts, perks of being a wallflower. the other all-timers. the bench scene lives in his head rent free.
- interstellar. cried in the theatre. twice. no shame.
- lootera, and honestly most of the ranveer singh catalogue. don too, the srk one.
- scarface, taxi driver, drive. that whole lane.
- mission impossible, bond, the batman trilogy, every spider-man. yes, all of them.
- marvel was great, until endgame. he has said what he has said.
- the imtiaz ali corner. there is an essay about this below. it is not short.
the shows
- this is us. all-time favorite, full stop. if he recommends you one show, it's this one.
- breaking bad. annual rewatch, non negotiable. game of thrones and ted lasso close behind.
- the office and parks and recreation. responsible for a worrying amount of the personality. himym too.
- dragon ball z and the og cartoon network lineup. johnny bravo was the favorite.
the shelf
- currently reading: zero to one. loving it. it's on the shelf between padmavat and the lean startup, which is the whole personality in one sentence.
- read everything by jaun elia, bukowski (the poetry too), faiz, ghalib, mir taqi mir. all of it. the shelf holds meer twice, once in english and once in hindi, plus bukowski's pleasures of the damned.
- on rumi: he has read a lot of him, and it always ends the same way. translation ruins it. the true meaning never survives the trip to english.
- also: diaries. he collects them.
▶ the whole shelf, read off the spines
the founder shelf: the lean startup, zero to one, good to great, the almanack of naval ravikant, do epic shit, blockchain revolution.
the urdu corner: meer twice, javed akhtar twice (tarkash and lava, the one that won him the sahitya akademi), gulzar, rumi twice (the big red book and the little book of love and laughter), read with the standing complaint from further up this section, the rubaiyat of omar khayyam, the sufi message of hazrat inayat khan. keats sits at the end of this row, outnumbered.
fiction: both hosseinis, the book thief, a gentleman in moscow, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, murakami's men without women, white nights, devdas, chokher bali, padmavat, jaya, the oath of the vayuputras, anna k, 50 greatest short stories, and the perks of being a wallflower, the book, to match the movie further up this page. darling rose gold and home before dark hold down the thriller wing.
the calm-down section: ikigai, kaizen, zen, deep work, the power of habit, the art of thinking clearly, the bullet journal method, the boy the mole the fox and the horse. all bought in one era. you can guess the era.
the odd ones: startup secrets from the ramayana, astrophysics for people in a hurry, the filmmaker's handbook, 100 world's greatest speeches, gita wisdom through quotes. no theme. never was one.
the font drawer
- syne the home font. half his internet is set in it.
- space mono for when things should look typed, not written.
- bungee the sticker font. shouting, but friendly.
- anton for headlines that lift.
- fraunces the fancy one. brought out for guests.
banned from this house: inter, roboto, helvetica. nothing personal.
writing
28 pieces, mostly written at 3am. start anywhere.
magic is real. i've always known. ↗ what deloitte taught me (by teaching me what i'm not) ↗ on cold emails and why they're the bravest thing you can do ↗ imtiaz ali understood something nobody else did ↗ dehradun and why i keep coming back ↗▶ the rest of the essays
- a letter to whoever finds this website
- who am i (genuinely asking)
- on being 27 and not knowing if you're doing it right
- i bombed an audition and it was the best thing that happened to me
- why i ship fast and don't apologize for it
- why i write letters to myself every new year's eve
- living the dream (not sarcastically)
- attract, don't chase
- the plan is there is no plan
- 3 am is a different country
- what is poetry, actually
▶ diwan-e-ishan, the 3am drawer
sport, the serious section
liverpool since 2010. missed istanbul by five years, cried at the re-run anyway, which is worse. on the wall: a bat with a badge signed by virat kohli. ira gave it to him. favorite gift of all time, and nothing is ever beating it. pickleball counts as cardio and he will defend this.
the log
- ✓show up
- ✓post consistently
- ✓sleep 8 hours
- ✓take a rest day
current PRs: bench 110 kg for 3, squat 135 kg for 4. at 72 kg bodyweight. yes, the ratio is correct.
where he's been
🇦🇪 dubai🇮🇩 bali🇻🇳 vietnam🇧🇪 belgium🇳🇱 amsterdam🇩🇪 germany🇮🇳 dehradun, home base
six stamped, in lime. the dark one is home. the rest of the map is the to-do list.
▶ the rides (jawa 42 bobber, enfield retired)
- 1200 km in 3 days, because the map looked small.
- manali to baralacha la. cried. didn't care.
- shillong, first date. rajasthan, with the boys.
the kitchen
chai: cutting, two biscuits, always two. the rest of the menu follows one recent discovery: you build muscle on boring food. current fixations: goatlife protein oats (the drinkable shark tank ones, 20g protein, ready in 30 seconds) and KILLER masala chicken.
▶ the chai, the only right way
house rule: doodh chini rokke, patti thokke. less milk, less sugar, more patti. per cup: 3/4 water, 1/4 doodh, 1 tsp tea leaves, 3/4 tsp sugar. water goes in first, then the patti. crush the aadrak and elaichi (ginger, cardamom) properly and drop them in while it heats. simmer, add the sugar, simmer again. when it starts boiling, add the milk. one more boil. serve hot. every other method is wrong.
▶ scrambled eggs, the doctrine
six egg whites, four whole eggs, butter, salt, black pepper. the secret: a spoon of pasta mix, stirred in. low flame, pull it early, keep it a little runny. overcooking is the only way to get this wrong.
▶ feta and chili oil eggs, the morning one
chili oil in the pan. three or four eggs broken straight over it, cooked like a half fry. feta crumbled on top, toast on the side. the yolk stays a little runny. that part is not optional.
▶ KILLER masala chicken
chicken breast marinated in KILLER masala (the brand spells it kilrr). air fryer, seven minutes a side. that's the whole recipe.
▶ what a wow, the house cocktail
from a bar called the daily, rebuilt from memory: 60ml gin, lime juice, sugar syrup, elderflower syrup, topped with soda. to this day his favorite thing to make that isn't a website.
the lamp story
auditioned for theatre on a whim. bombed the audition. got the lead anyway. played aladdin. still one of the most alive he's ever felt. the full story is in the essays. there's a lamp on his desk about it.
