The Duality
thought2025
I write smart contracts and Urdu poetry. I debug code and I cry at sunsets. I negotiate with clients on Zoom and then recite Khusrau to my friends in the car.
People find this confusing. I find it obvious.
The idea that you have to be one thing is the biggest lie anyone ever told us. That you're either creative or technical. Either emotional or analytical. Either the artist or the engineer.
I refused to pick. Not out of some grand philosophy. Just because picking felt like lying. Picking felt like cutting off a limb to fit into a box that someone else built.
I am a person who cares deeply about pixel-perfect design AND about whether a smart contract is gas-efficient. I care about the color of a button AND about the architecture of a database. I cry during movies AND I can read a balance sheet.
These are not contradictions. They're dimensions.
The best things I've built came from the intersection. From bringing a poet's eye to a product problem. From bringing an engineer's precision to a brand strategy. The overlap is where the interesting work lives.
Most people live on one side and visit the other. I live in the middle. It's messier there. Harder to explain on LinkedIn. Harder to fit into a job title.
But it's mine. And the work that comes from it is mine. And nobody else can make what I make, because nobody else is standing where I'm standing.
The duality is not a weakness. It's the edge.
